Girari Sustainable Event Furnishings Hosted a Nine Team Table Decorating Competition
November 18 at the Luxe Hotel Sunset Blvd.

Girari's email Inbox was overflowing last month when emotional invitees wrote us expressing how sad and frustrated they
were about not being able to attend the Shootout in person. (OK, I know, but it did get you reading this . . .)

Doyle Borden's interpretation of Girari's 34x90 rectangular glass dining table was spot on and Doyle won Girari's First Place, the
People's Choice Award and the Luxe Hotel's Award, almost sweeping the top prizes. You can see from the photos below
that his design was not only stunningly beautiful, but properly matched the rectangular lines of the table. No one is counting,
but Doyle walked away with $5,000 in rental credits from Girari, a complementary stay at the Luxe Hotel, and an acrylic plaque.

Second Place($2,000 in credits) went to Jenny Guthrie ,Third Place($1,000) to Joella Hopkins and Fourth Place($1,000) to Lynn
Whittenberg. The Cort Award($1,000 in Cort rental credits) also went to Joella Hopkins.

A first for the Shootout, each judge (Randy Fuhrman, Joe Moller, Alex Rembach, Ada Chan and Pamela Ferrari) scored first
place through fourth place winners exactly in that order. If, after looking over the photos below, you don't agree with the

The sponsors went all out for the Shootout, offering a wonderful venue, comfortable lounge, great food, drinks and
entertainment, including our new "dueling M.C.'s", Jorge Lopez and Laurent Minitti, who kept the pace lively during the
awards period ceremony.

For 2010, we expect to hold the Shootout in September. Watch for the "Call For Teams" eBlast,
field a team and you too can be subjected to the stomach turning, panicky feeling while you wait for the judges' decisions.
